National Parks play a great role in Environmental Protection Out of 104 National Parks in India, the Kaziranga National Park is the most notable Wildlife Sanctuary in India. It was designated as a National Park of India in the year 1974.

The Kaziranga National Park is not only the home of the world’s great One-Horned Rhino but also many rare wild animals of Assam such as Wild Water Buffalo, and Hog Deer are found there. It was also declared a Tiger reserve in the year 2006.

According to the census of 2018, the Kaziranga National Park has a population of 2413 Rhinos. It is recognized as an Important Bird Area by a global organization called BirdLife International.

Kaziranga National Park is one of the biggest parks in India. The Park lies partly in the Golaghat District and partly in the Nagaon District of Assam. This park is known to be one of the oldest parks in Assam.

The Kaziranga National Park covers a vast area along the river Brahmaputra in the North and the Karbi Anglong Hills in the South. Kaziranga National Park is declared as a World Heritage Site as it is the largest habitat of One Horned Rhinoceros.

Earlier it was a reserved forest, but in 1974 it was declared as a National Park.

There are many species of Flora and Fauna found in the park. Kaziranga is the habitat of the world’s largest number of Rhinos and Elephants. Apart from that, different kinds of Deer, Buffalos, Tigers, and Birds can be found in the Kaziranga National Park.
